I think I'm pretty sound with the majority of what I said still. Knockout football is an incredibly cruel ordeal and it's hard to judge a team purely on it. I am disappointed that England didn't go further and I think Southgate could have made better subs in the France game but going out after playing well against the then-reigning World Champions and eventual finalists isn't really something you can really crucify him for.
